On May 8, 2016, a German parliamentary delegation visited King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport and toured its components and got an idea about its benefits to residents of the city.

The delegation met with Riyadh Metro project manager, Engr. ‎Walid Al-Ekrish, and Engr. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Hazzani, ADA Architectural Projects’ Program ‎Manager, who shared a video presentation to shed light on the project, which will comprehensively change the lifestyle in the city of Riyadh.

Then, the delegation visited Al-Olaya Metro Station at the junction of the Blue Line (Al-Olaya – Al-Batha Axis) with the 2000-meter-long tunnel of the Red Line (King Abdullah Road Axis), which has been bored by a TBM using the sequential excavation method (NATM).

At the end of the visit, the delegation praised the giant project, which will bring about a qualitative change in almost all aspects of life in the city. “We have seen remarkable and ambitious work done by highly skilled workforce striving to complete the project on time,” a delegation member concluded.
