Open data

Open data is a valuable knowledge resource offered by government entities to individuals and organizations. It enables users to freely access, use, reuse, and share information without technical, financial, or legal barriers, subject only to the terms of the Open Data License. Serving as a key link between the government and the community, open data drives transparency, collaboration, and active public participation in building the future. It also empowers innovators to transform data into knowledge and develop advanced solutions that contribute to human and urban development.

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) leverages open data to achieve the following:

• Strengthen Transparency and Public Engagement: Enhancing transparency by providing Riyadh’s residents with access to institutional performance data and enabling them to share constructive feedback that supports informed decision-making, while boosting the sense of community ownership and belonging.
• Create New Investment Opportunities: Encouraging businesses and entrepreneurs to make use of open data in developing innovative products, services, and ventures.
• Unlock Technological Innovation: Enabling developers, researchers, and institutions to integrate diverse datasets and create innovative value-added solutions and applications that enhance quality of life.
• Build a Trusted Knowledge Base: Providing accurate, high-quality datasets in open, accessible formats to serve as a reliable reference for researchers and experts.
• Enhance Service Efficiency: Utilizing data analytics and community engagement to improve institutional performance, enhance service delivery, and accelerate Riyadh’s urban development.

To request the publication of additional public-interest datasets or the expansion of existing ones, users may submit an Open Dataset Request.
