Workshop on Riyadh Geoportal with the participation ‎of experts and representatives from public and private ‎sectors ‎

Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) organized a workshop to introduce the “Riyadh Geoportal” with the participation of 60 experts and representatives from 28 government agencies.

The Riyadh Geoportal is an online platform that provides interactive spatial data and information on several fields including planning, environment, services, transport, disasters, risks and urban security, with the aim of supporting decision and policy makers, planners, researchers and scholars in government agencies, the private sector and civil society institutions.

In line with the Saudi Vision 2030, the portal seeks to boost institutional and community involvement in the planning processes and comprehensive and sustainable development efforts across the capital and the province according to the policies outlined in the Metropolitan Development Strategy for the Arriyadh Region (MEDSTAR).

During the workshop, the participants watched a video presentation that briefed them on the portal, its objectives, and information systems. At the end of the workshop, the participants exchanged experience and views on the best solutions to enrich the content of the platform, update its data and make use of its online services.
