Saudi Arabia submits Expo 2030 Riyadh Registration Dossier to BIE
Saudi Arabia has submitted the Registration Dossier for World Expo 2030 Riyadh to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment and readiness to host this global event and its close coordination with the BIE.
The Registration Dossier was handed over by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the French Republic, H.E. Fahad M. Al-Ruwaily to the BIE Secretary General, Dimitri S. Kerkentzes.
The Registration Dossier is an essential element in the organization of the World Expo, serving as the primary foundation for executing operational plans and launching the preparatory phase for this global event. It reaffirms Saudi Arabia’s commitment to meeting its international obligations while demonstrating its outstanding organizational capabilities and vast potential to host large-scale global events.
This milestone follows Saudi Arabia’s election as World Expo 2030 host country during the 173rd General Assembly of the BIE on 28 November 2023. The Registration Dossier presents a detailed plan for the implementation of the Expo, including scheduled operational dates, legislative and financial measures, the Expo site Master Plan, the conditions for international participation and its legacy plans.
The Registration Dossier will be reviewed by the BIE Secretariat and Member States in order to prepare for the formal registration of Expo 2030 Riyadh by the General Assembly of the Organization. Following the registration, Saudi Arabia will be able to begin Expo preparations and invite international participants via diplomatic channels.
The Secretary General of the BIE, Dimitri S. Kerkentzes stated: “The Registration Dossier is a comprehensive blueprint for Expo 2030 Riyadh, providing detailed information to guide the Organisers, Participants and the BIE in the next phases of the project. It’s development, in close cooperation with the BIE, reflects the dedication of Saudi authorities at all levels to the meticulous preparation of the Expo.”
