RCRC Participates in Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona
3 November, 2026

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) is participating in the Smart City Expo World Congress, taking place in Barcelona, Spain, from November 3 to 5, 2026, to present Riyadh’s experience in urban development and digital transformation. The participation also provides an opportunity to exchange expertise with international specialists, city representatives, and specialized institutions, review international best practices, and explore avenues for cooperation in urban development and improving quality of life.

During the congress, RCRC is highlighting how data and advanced technologies are being used in urban planning and city management, including through the RCRC Open Data Portal, digital twin applications, and artificial intelligence. The Commission is also presenting Riyadh’s experience in developing its public transport network and traffic management systems, along with progress on the Green Riyadh Program, the Real Estate Balance Program (Tawazoun), and major projects across the capital. These efforts reflect a coordinated approach to urban development that responds to the city’s continued growth and the needs of residents and visitors.

The Smart City Expo World Congress is a leading international forum for urban development and the future of cities. Held this year under the theme “Urban Solutions, Real Impact,” the congress features more than 600 international speakers and brings together government entities, experts, companies, and research institutions from around the world. Discussions cover the latest developments and approaches in digital transformation, mobility, energy, the environment, housing, and infrastructure, with an emphasis on international cooperation to develop more efficient and sustainable cities.
