Urban Observatory Program

Riyadh Urban Observatory works to create sustainable urban monitoring systems to support comprehensive planning processes in the capital, contribute to building local capacities, facilitates partnerships between the various sectors operating in the city, and identify their development priorities. The Observatory prepares specialized studies that address the most prominent urban issues through a comprehensive perspective that supports efforts to develop appropriate solutions that are compatible with the strategic plans of all partners working in the city.

This introductory publication deals with the Urban Observatory program as a comprehensive analytical unit for the city of Riyadh that aims to develop an integrated perception of the status of the city and its future trends through an accurate extrapolation of the results of urban indicators that ensure follow-up of plans and policies, monitor achievement rates, and guide the city towards achieving sustainable urban development.
