Riyadh in 50 years

A special edition attached to Issue 37 of the Development Magazine of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, comprises six chapters that take the reader on an exploration of the city from ancient past to the bright present. The book addresses an important aspect of the change in the lives of Riyadh’s people who have witnessed a dynamic environment of social transformation, authenticity, and digital transformation.

The first chapter begins in 1374 AH with subsequent chapters following the various stages of the city’s dramatic urban development over five decades and covers infrastructure, utilities, public services, the economy and international status. The final chapter concludes with a vision of a future Riyadh.
