King Abdullah Road Development Project – Phase I

The comprehensive plan prepared by RCRC for the development of Riyadh’s road network included the development of King Abdullah Road from King Khalid Road West to Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al Sabah Road East. The 25-kilometer section was upgraded from a main road to one of the most active free-moving highways in Riyadh.

This publication outlines the components of the first phase of the project (middle part), which starts from the west of its intersection with Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz I Road to the east of its intersection with King Abdulaziz Road, a length of 5.3 km, through a number of axes as follows:

• Intersection tunnels.
• Safety systems.
• Ventilation equipment.
• Fire extinguishing system.
• Lighting system.
• Walkways.
• Gardens and aesthetic creations.
• Gates.
• Afforestation and aesthetic creations.
• Irrigation system.
