Lake Namar Views Park
As part of its broader effort to rehabilitate the tributaries of Wadi Hanifah, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has been working to transform these areas into vibrant natural destinations for recreation and leisure. The development of Wadi Namar stands as a centerpiece of this wider program.
Building on the success of the first phase of the Wadi Namar environmental rehabilitation project – and the earlier opening of Wadi Namar Dam Park – RCRC developed Wadi Namar Views Park, a 260,000-square-meter destination that marks new phase in the site’s transformation.
Project Features
The park offers a comprehensive range of visitor facilities, including a 2.5-kilometer access road, parking for 500 vehicles, and four kilometers of paved pedestrian pathways. Visitors can also make use of 140 seating areas, four multi-purpose sports courts, two children’s play areas, and four public restroom facilities. The site is further enhanced by integrated lighting and extensive landscaping, with more than 1,211 trees and a variety of shrubs planted throughout the grounds.
A defining feature of the park is its scenic waterfall, which cascades from the upper valley directly into the Wadi Namar Dam lake at a flow rate of 400 liters per second.
Inauguration
Wadi Namar Views Park was officially inaugurated on Monday, 19 Sha’ban 1438H (15 May 2017), by HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Province, alongside several other environmental rehabilitation projects along the tributaries of Wadi Hanifah. The ceremony was held in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Riyadh Province.
