New Bridge on Othman Bin Affan Road at the Anas Bin Malik Road Intersection

New Bridge on Othman Bin Affan Road at the Anas Bin Malik Road Intersection
27 September, 2026

Development works on the northern section of Othman Bin Affan Road are progressing steadily as part of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City’s (RCRC) efforts to develop ring roads and main road axes and improve the efficiency of the road network. Construction is currently underway on a new bridge at the intersection with Anas Bin Malik Road, along with upgrades to the road lanes, helping to increase traffic efficiency and keep vehicles moving smoothly across the north of the capital.

To accommodate these construction works, a traffic diversion will come into effect at the intersection on September 27, 2026, as part of a comprehensive traffic plan coordinated with the Riyadh Region Traffic Department and the relevant city authorities to maintain continuous traffic flow throughout the execution phases, minimize the impact on road users, and uphold the highest safety standards.

Spanning 4.3 kilometers, the development project for the northern section of Othman Bin Affan Road comprises the construction of seven bridges and the upgrading of existing road lanes. These improvements will raise the road’s capacity to approximately 500,000 vehicles per day, supporting smooth traffic movement, reducing travel times, and improving the overall level of service.

The project falls under the Main and Ring Road Axes Development Program, an initiative designed to raise the efficiency of Riyadh’s road network and strengthen connectivity between its primary arteries. The program supports the capital’s urban and economic growth and elevates mobility standards through the delivery and upgrading of more than 500 kilometers of the city’s road network, adding new roads, enhancing existing main axes, and integrating them seamlessly.
