Green Riyadh Launches National Day Afforestation Campaign at Shuaib Umm Qasr
To mark Saudi National Day, the Green Riyadh Program – overseen by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) – has launched an afforestation and cleanup campaign at Shuaib Umm Qasr valley, held under the slogan “Plant a Tree, Build a Green Nation.”
Scheduled for September 23 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the campaign is open to volunteers from across the community, who will receive certificates in recognition of their contribution to the environment
By bringing volunteers together for tree planting and cleanup activities, the initiative promotes community participation and a culture of volunteerism, in support of national efforts to protect the environment and safeguard its long-term sustainability.
Located in the Central Al-Uraija district of Riyadh, Shuaib Umm Qasr is a natural tributary of Wadi Hanifah. The site has undergone a major transformation through rehabilitation works carried out under the Program to the highest environmental and engineering standards, restoring its natural character and enriching the urban landscape – turning the area into a fully integrated space for sport and recreation.
