RCRC CEO Thanks Leadership on Imam Abdulrahman Reserve
His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Sultan, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, and CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister following the Cabinet’s announcement regarding the establishment of the “Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal Reserve” and the formation of its Board of Directors.
His Excellency emphasized that this initiative reflects the leadership’s vision to protect natural sites and develop nature reserves. It also reaffirms the leadership’s commitment to preserving the Kingdom’s environmental and rural assets, while safeguarding its rich cultural heritage.
His Excellency noted that the reserve covers an area of 4,310 square kilometers, extending across Dhurma, Al-Muzahimiyah, and the areas between the two governorates. The reserve enjoys a distinctive landscape featuring the Tuwaiq Mountains, sand dunes, and an authentic rural setting.
His Excellency explained that RCRC oversees the achievement of the reserve’s objectives, which focus on environmental protection, the restoration of natural ecosystems, economic prosperity, and social development. These objectives will be pursued in close coordination with relevant entities through plans to protect and rehabilitate the areas surrounding the Tuwaiq Mountains. The plans will also guide urban growth in a manner that balances the interests of residents, landowners, and business operators, while preserving the area’s rural character and historical identity.
