RCRC Commences Construction of Two Bridges Under the Taif Road Development Project
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has initiated the construction of two major bridges as part of the Taif Road Development Project. Designed to upgrade the vital intersections at Najd and Asir roads, this milestone will significantly enhance connectivity between Qiddiya City in the west and both the Ring Road and Jeddah Road in the east. Ultimately, the development is set to optimize traffic efficiency and drastically reduce commute times across one of the capital’s key transport corridors.
The 15-kilometer project features the construction of both bridges, as well as the complete redevelopment of the main traffic lanes. By increasing the route’s capacity to accommodate nearly 200,000 vehicles per day, these critical upgrades will further support the interconnectedness of Riyadh’s essential transport arteries.
The upgrade of the Najd and Asir intersections incorporates an integrated network of overpasses and dedicated lanes. By significantly reducing vehicular conflict points, this cohesive design ensures seamless traffic flow and improves overall mobility along this critical corridor.
As on-site operations officially begin on Monday, June 8, 2026, RCRC has rolled out an integrated traffic management strategy in coordination with key authorities. Designed to maintain seamless mobility and uphold the highest safety standards, the plan is complemented by continuous updates to digital navigation systems, ensuring the public receives real-time alerts regarding project milestones and associated traffic detours.
