Riyadh Art Highlights Artistic Transformation on World Art Day
World Art Day, celebrated annually on April 15, highlights the growing role of art in shaping urban landscapes and enhancing the quality of life.
Since its launch in 2019, the Riyadh Art Program has worked to integrate art into the city’s urban fabric by developing a wide range of artworks distributed across squares, public spaces, thoroughfares, transportation hubs, and public facilities.

This transforms the city into an open-air gallery where art meets everyday life, as reflected in the display of 665 artworks across various Riyadh Art initiatives, including Noor Riyadh, the Tuwaiq Sculpture Symposium, and the permanent art collection.
The wider dissemination of artworks has also provided artists with opportunities to present their work within varied urban contexts, where artistic concepts intersect with the surrounding environment and its function.
