Riyadh Art and L’Institut Français in Saudi Arabia Announce Opening of ‘La Fabrique’ at JAX District
Riyadh Art Program, overseen by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), in partnership with L’Institut Français in Saudi Arabia, has announced the launch of the “La Fabrique” initiative under the theme “Beyond the Temporary.” This new space, dedicated to artistic creativity and cultural exchange, will be hosted at the Riyadh Art Hub in JAX District from January 22 to February 14, 2026.
La Fabrique is a creative platform that provides an empowering environment for artists, enabling them to develop and share their ideas across a wide range of contemporary art practices. It also offers visitors the opportunity to interact with the creative process as it unfolds and observe how artworks originate and evolve over time.
The La Fabrique initiative features an accompanying multi-discipline program, featuring performances, digital and immersive artworks, photography, music, cinema, and culinary, alongside other interactive activities. By bringing these disciplines together in a shared space, the initiative highlights the creative process as a key element of contemporary art, focusing on interactive experiences, dialogue, and the relationship between the artist, the material, and the spatial context.
Eng. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Hazzani, Executive Director of the Lifestyle Sector at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, said: “This initiative reflects Riyadh Art’s commitment to supporting contemporary art and making it more accessible to the public through creative development initiatives. By creating a platform for collaborative work, we are strengthening Riyadh’s cultural ecosystem and empowering the city’s growing creative community. This helps establish the capital as a premier destination for arts and culture.”
H.E. Patrick Maisonnave, Ambassador of France to Saudi Arabia, said: “La Fabrique embodies the spirit of a new cultural chapter between France and Saudi Arabia. By bringing our artists together, we are not only sharing techniques and traditions, but we are also opening a space where imaginations meet, new forms emerge, and creativity becomes a bridge between our two societies. This initiative reflects our belief that artistic dialogue is one of the most powerful ways to build understanding, trust, and a shared future.”
La Fabrique is part of the cultural partnership between Saudi Arabia and France, which centers culture as a key pillar of bilateral cooperation. The initiative supports the creative sector and facilitates the exchange of artistic expertise between the two nations.
Developed through collaboration between Riyadh Art and key cultural entities and institutions, the project supports Riyadh’s transformation into a global cultural destination, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
