Sports Boulevard
The Sports Boulevard is one of Riyadh’s mega projects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, on March 19th, 2019, chaired by HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The project is contributing to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030 goals by raising Riyadh’s ranking and making it one of the most liveable cities in the world, by encouraging people to adopt a healthy lifestyle through exercise and participation in various sports.

About the Project
The Sports Boulevard extends for more than 135km across the city of Riyadh, connecting Wadi Hanifah in the West to Wadi Al Sulay in the East. It features safe, green pathways for pedestrians, professional and amateur cyclists, as well as horse trails and other various sports facilities, including the Global Sports Tower, which is considered the tallest sports tower in the world and one of the Project’s iconic landmarks.
The Project features over 4 million square meters of green spaces, more than 50 sports facilities, and investment zones spanning more than 3 million square meters.

Create a sports and wellness ecosystem that inspires residents and visitors to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle.

The Opening of the Sports Boulevard Project’s First Phase
In February 2025, the Sports Boulevard’s Board of Directors, chaired by HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, announced the opening of the first phase of the Sports Boulevard project in Riyadh. This milestone featured five key destinations, which are:
- Wadi Hanifah
- The Promenade
- The intersection between Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Road and Prince Turki I Road
- Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University Internal Cycling Loop Pathway
- The first phase of Sands Sports Park
With this, the total completed length of the project now stands at 83 km.
