Environmental rehabilitation project for the valleys of Mahdia, Ober and Batha (first phase)

RCRC has established a program for the environmental rehabilitation of the tributary valleys of Wadi Hanifa, which aims to rehabilitate and develop these tributaries and turn them into attractive natural recreation areas. The valleys included in this program are Mahdia, Uber, and Al Batha.

Wadi Mahdia (first stage)

The environmental rehabilitation project for Wadi al-Mahdiya, which is in the western part of the city of Riyadh, included the implementation of a local road with a length of 5km, 135 parking spaces, pedestrian paths with a length of 1.2km, and the planting of 4,000 trees and shrubs, in addition to lighting and landscaping works.

Uber Valley (first phase)

The environmental rehabilitation project for the Uber Valley, adjacent to the Mahdia Valley, west of Riyadh, included the implementation of a local road with a length of 6.5km, 240 parking spaces, establishing pedestrian paths with a length of 2.5km, and preparing the site with 60 designated areas for picnickers, in addition to lighting works and the planting of 4,000 trees and shrubs.

Wadi Al Batha (Al Tasneef Street)

The environmental rehabilitation project for the Batha Valley included the implementation of a local road with a length of 5km, the construction of car parks with a capacity of 450 cars, pedestrian paths with a length of 7km, the preparation of the site with 42 designated areas for picnickers, in addition to lighting and landscaping works, and the improvement of the Batha Valley canal with a length of 2km.

Project opening

On Monday, Shaaban 19, 1438 AH, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, inaugurated the project to develop the valleys of Mahdia, Uber and Al-Batha (phase one), as part of the environmental rehabilitation program for the tributary valleys of Wadi Hanifa.
