RCRC Lifts Development Restrictions on 33.24 km² in Western Riyadh

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has announced the lifting of restrictions on a 33.24-square-kilometer area located west of the capital. This decision enables landowners and property holders to resume all transactions, including sales, purchases, planning, partitioning and subdivision, and to obtain building permits.
Reaffirming the wise leadership’s support for the real estate sector, this initiative aligns with the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to ensure a balanced and sustainable real estate market, contributing to the Kingdom’s broader national development goals.
RCRC confirmed that all future development within the area will be governed by the Urban Code for Wadi Hanifah and its Tributaries. The Code establishes diverse urban development frameworks designed to create a high-quality living environment that meets residents’ needs while preserving the ecological and visual integrity of the area. These regulations standardize building patterns, enhance urban design, and promote environmental sustainability, contributing to improved quality of life and resilient urban growth across the capital.
As part of a comprehensive roadmap to shape Riyadh’s urban future, this step supports a balanced real estate market and a high-quality built environment. The initiative reinforces sustainable community development, improves accessibility, and ensures service diversity, aligning urban growth with the evolving needs of each development phase.
