Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has officially inaugurated the operations of Buckswood British School at Riyadh’s Al-Izdihar district. The ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Neil Crompton, British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with senior officials from RCRC and representatives from the Ministries of Education and Investment.

The launch marks a strategic partnership between Ataa Educational Company and Buckswood Global, aimed at delivering a comprehensive educational experience across all academic stages—from kindergarten through secondary school. The school will follow internationally recognized curricula that meet the highest academic standards while promoting Saudi values, national identity, and a strong emphasis on Arabic language instruction.

The opening of Buckswood’s Riyadh campus represents a significant milestone in the city’s educational development. As one of the UK’s most respected educational institutions, Buckswood brings an international model that blends academic excellence with global best practices.

Commenting on the occasion, British Ambassador Mr. Neil Crompton said: “The inauguration of esteemed British schools such as Buckswood in Riyadh reflects the depth of the educational partnership between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. It supports the provision of world-class education and empowers students to realize their full potential.”

Ms. Hala Halawani, General Manager of the Education Sector Development Department at RCRC, highlighted the broader impact of attracting international schools to the capital: “Bringing leading global institutions like Buckswood to Riyadh enhances the quality of the local education sector by integrating international expertise and offering diverse educational options. The school offers a holistic model that combines academic rigor with a deep-rooted emphasis on national values and identity.”

The school’s establishment is part of the Global Schools Attraction Program, led by RCRC in collaboration with the Ministries of Education and Investment. The program seeks to bring leading international educational institutions to Riyadh, supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and contributing to the development of human capital. It also reinforces Riyadh’s positioning as a global destination for education.
