Riyadh Urban Observatory Inaugurates its Third Session

The Riyadh Urban Observatory has inaugurated its third session during the meeting of its Executive Committee held at the headquarters of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, with the participation of the concerned public and private sector stakeholders.
The meeting reviewed the observatory’s plan of action for this session and the measures taken regarding the last session’s decisions, in addition to a number of topics including:
- Identify the “urbanization concept” and develop statistics gathering mechanisms
- Study the key results, causes and social consequences of “divorce index”
- Incorporate the UN-Habitat’s “City Prosperity Index” and “Smart Cities Indicators” into the observatory’s work plan for the future sessions
- Approve the observatory’s plan of action for the third session
Working under the umbrella of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, the observatory monitors the progress of the all urban development projects and plans in the city of Riyadh and facilitates the follow-up of the progress achieved regarding the relevant plans and policies in participation with 56 stakeholders covering all metropolitan sectors.
