The High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh has concluded its summer training course, which is part of Riyadh Metro Project’s technology localization program, organized in collaboration with the international coalitions working on King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport (Metro & Buses). The program aims to familiarize the national cadres with the successful international experiences in the transport sector, and motivate them to specialize in new majors that meet current and future needs of the sector in the Kingdom.

The trainees comprised an elite of engineering students from three universities: King Saud University, King Faisal University, and Prince Sultan University.

The 10-week training program included theoretical and practical workshops covering:

  • Components of King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport (Metro & Buses)
  • Field visits to the six metro lines and TBM’s
  • Construction works of the project’s 85 stations
  • Meetings with the project engineers
