Riyadh Metro Named “Mega Project of the Year 2025” for the MENA Region by MEED

Riyadh Metro, the flagship public transport project developed by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), has been honored with the “Mega Project of the Year 2025” award for the Middle East and North Africa region at the prestigious MEED Projects Awards.

This recognition underscores Riyadh’s growing stature as a global urban hub and celebrates the Metro’s world-class achievement in transforming mobility across the capital.

The MEED judging panel selected the project following a rigorous evaluation process, commending its excellence in engineering design, technical innovation, operational execution, and sustainable urban development. The project’s complex management and measurable social and environmental benefits further distinguished it among other regional entries.

The MEED Projects Awards are recognized as the region’s most respected benchmark for excellence, setting international standards for quality, innovation, and impact in large-scale infrastructure projects.
