On the sidelines of the Global Health Forum 2025, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, aimed at optimizing urban mobility and accelerating emergency response times across the capital.

Aligned with RCRC’s roadmap for smart, integrated infrastructure, the MoU focuses on high-level interoperability between traffic control and emergency fleets. A central feature of this initiative is the integration of smart traffic lights with Red Crescent networks, creating green waves to expedite ambulance travel during emergencies. The MoU also prioritizes the real-time sharing of critical operational data to enhance decision-making.

Beyond technical integration, this collaboration will facilitate joint planning for operational simulations, ensuring operational resilience during major events and peak seasons, ultimately elevating Riyadh’s overall emergency preparedness.
