Sports Boulevard
The Sports Boulevard is one of Riyadh’s mega projects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, on March 19th, 2019, chaired by HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The project is contributing to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030 goals by raising Riyadh’s ranking and making it one of the most liveable cities in the world, by encouraging people to adopt a healthy lifestyle through exercise and participation in various sports.

About the Project
The Sports Boulevard extends for more than 135km across the city of Riyadh, connecting Wadi Hanifah in the West to Wadi Al Sulay in the East. It features safe, green pathways for pedestrians, professional and amateur cyclists, as well as horse trails and other various sports facilities, including the Global Sports Tower, which is considered the tallest sports tower in the world and one of the Project’s iconic landmarks.
The Project features over 4 million square meters of green spaces, more than 50 sports facilities, and investment zones spanning more than 3 million square meters.

Create an innovative and sustainable urban regeneration as a green spine in Riyadh, that connects the city, enables sports adoption and improve the quality of life in alignment with the goals of Vision 2030.

Create a sports and wellness ecosystem that inspires residents and visitors to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle.
The Project’s Main Destinations
The main destinations of the Sports Boulevard include:
Wadi Hanifah
It covers a distance of 14.3 km from Al-Olab Dam (north) to Jeddah Road (south), winding through various giga projects, including DGDA and Mohammed bin Salman non-profit city.

Promenade
The destination covers a distance of 4 km and is located on Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Road, between King Khalid Road and Prince Turki Bin Abdulaziz Al Awwal Road. It is distinguished by the Cycling Bridge, which stretches over 900 metres, connecting the Promenade and Wadi Hanifah.
Urban Wadi
The destination covers a distance of 4.5 km, from Suwaid Bin Harthah Street (west) to Ar Rub Al-Khali Street (east), including a water canal, a land set out for private investment, multiple pathways, and sports opportunities.



Entertainment Destination
The destination covers a distance of 3 km, from Ar Rub Al-Khali Street (west) to Abi Bakr As Siddiq Road (east), and features pathways, a bicycle station, and many recreational areas.
Athletics Destination
The destination covers a distance of 4 km, from Abi Bakr As Siddiq Road (west) to Airport Road (east). It includes various sports facilities, along with the Global Sports Tower, which is considered the tallest sports tower in the world and one of the Project’s iconic landmarks.



Wadi Al Sulai
The destination covers a distance of 43 km, from King Fahad Stadium (south) to King Salman Park in Banban (north).
Eco Destination
The destination covers a distance of 15 km, from Airport Road (west) to Al Janadriyah Road (east).

Sands Sports Park
The completed area of Sands Sports Park covers 45 km in the Southeast region of King Khalid International Airport. The Park features cycling pathways that reflect the nature it holds within.
Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University Internal Cycling Loop
The loop covers a distance of 20 km within Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University’s campus. It includes dedicated pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Opening of the Sports Boulevard Project’s First Phase
In February 2025, the Sports Boulevard’s Board of Directors, chaired by HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, announced the opening of the first phase of the Sports Boulevard project in Riyadh. This milestone featured five key destinations, which are:
- Wadi Hanifah
- The Promenade
- The intersection between Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Road and Prince Turki I Road
- Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University Internal Cycling Loop Pathway
- The first phase of Sands Sports Park
With this, the total completed length of the project now stands at 83 km.
